FAQs
What is Hardwax oil?
Hardwax oil is a natural wood finish that combines the durability of hard waxes such as carnauba with the aesthetic appeal of traditional oils. It penetrates the wood surface to enhance the grain and color while providing a protective, water-resistant layer. This finish is often used in flooring and furniture to create a warm, matte look that is easy to maintain and repair.
What is the best way to apply Hardwax oil?
To apply hardwax oil to wood, start by sanding the surface with fine-grade sandpaper to ensure smoothness. Clean the wood thoroughly to eliminate dust and debris. Using a clean, lint-free cloth or a brush, apply a thin, even coat of hardwax oil to the surface, following the wood grain. Allow it to penetrate for about 15-30 minutes, then wipe off excess with a clean cloth. Let the first coat dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually 4 to 6 hours. Apply additional coats as required for the desired level of protection and sheen.
What do the nano ceramics do?
ÉAdding nano ceramics to hardwax oil enhances the durability and longevity of the finish, providing increased resistance to scratches and wear. These nanoparticles also offer superior protection against moisture and stains, helping to maintain the wood’s appearance over time. Additionally, the inclusion of nano ceramics can improve the oil’s UV resistance, reducing the risk of fading and discoloration caused by sunlight. This combination ensures a more robust and long-lasting finish, ideal for high-traffic areas..
How is cutting board gel better than oil?
Cutting board gels, which combine oils and waxes, offer superior protection compared to oils alone. The oil component penetrates deeply into the wood, nourishing and preventing cracking, while the wax forms a protective surface layer that repels moisture and enhances durability. This combination ensures a well-maintained cutting board that resists stains and maintains its appearance over time.
